Masks are no longer mandatory in schools, malls, restaurants, supermarkets or any other public places.
The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) advised to continue wearing masks for the vulnerable categories of residents and tourists which includes the elderly, those with chronic diseases, and people of determination.
Airlines have been given the option to decide whether to make mask wearing mandatory onboard flights.
Additionally, food service providers, covid-positive cases and those suspected of having Covid have to remain masked.
The updated mask rules are part of an “initial phase” of easing restrictions, with further updates to be announced regularly.
