UAE government announced that the National Sterilisation Programme hours have been extended to 8pm each night to 6am the following morning, from Wednesday May 20 until further notice. Residents are now only permitted to leave home between 6am and 8pm.
The UAE, in a press briefing, also released a revised list of fines for those who violate COVID-19 rules and restrictions.
- AED 50,000 fine for those who don’t abide by closure of schools, gyms, cinema, parks, cafes, restaurants, pools.
- AED 50,000 fine also applies to those not abiding by opening and closing times of restaurants, parks, malls etc.
- AED 30,000 fine for those holding private classes.
- AED 20,000 fine for anyone publishing private patient information, not operating thermal screening cameras where required and anyone hacking ALHOSN UAE app during quarantine.
- AED 10,000 fine for individuals who have or had Covid-19 and refuse to download ALHOSN UAE Covid contact tracing app whilst under quarantine; failure to carry the electronic tracking device for home quarantine cases; and losing or destroying the device.
- AED 5,000 fine for shops outside of shopping centres found to be in breach of COVID-19 rules.
- AED 3,000 fine for not wearing a mask in public and if travelling in a vehicle with others; travelling in a vehicle with more than three people; and not following social distancing measures.
- Not wearing masks at work / offices: AED 5,000 for company while AED 500 for employee.
- Having a party or gathering: AED 10,000 for host while AED 5,000 for each attendee.
- Not maintaining social distancing at work or other places such as shops or restaurants: AED 3,000 per person involved while AED 5,000 for institutions.
- Moving workers between emirates: AED 10,000 fines for company and the vehicle will be confiscated.
