Over 1000 Dubai government services, including 40 public departments, will only be available online from October 21 to October 25. This initiative is led by the Department of Finance which aims to boost the use of government apps and e-services.
Customers for this entire week will be encouraged to use e-services, apps and smart channels instead of the service centres. The services provided by the 40 public departments will only be available via mobile applications and websites.
A similar initiative was launched in 2017 called “A Day Without Service Centres”, however, the same is extended for an entire week this year. This day was a great success with a 30% registered increase in the use of e-services and smart channels. 36 government entities had participated in this one day initiative and 31,000 smart transactions worth UAE Dirhams 55 million were processed as compared to the previous day transactions worth UAE Dirhams 42.2 million.
These initiatives are part of government strategies to complete the digitalization of all government services by December 2021.
