It was announced by Dubai Healthcare Authority (DHA) that predated sick leave of three consecutive days or more will no longer be issued. This means that sick leave can only be granted to patients on the day they actually visit medical facilities and not on previous days.
It has been reported that DHA has urged physicians and other personnel at public and private medical facilities to abide by this new decision and refrain from giving patients predated sick leave. The director of the health planning department at DHA, Marwan Al Mulla, said that this procedure was implemented starting today at all public and private health facilities in order to achieve transparency.
