Healthcare professionals who have been licensed once in the UAE will not be required to re-sit exams if they return to the country in the future. Once a healthcare professional leaves the country, their details will be saved in the system but will be in an inactive form.

The Dubai Health Authority confirmed that the credentials of the healthcare professionals will be saved in the upcoming Dubai Healthcare Professionals’ Registry. Once they exit the country, and return in the future, their details will be reactivated in the registry. The license will be renewed instead of being cancelled. This was the process being followed earlier.

The registry will provide all the important details such as the date when the license was issued to the healthcare professionals, their areas of expertise or their specialties, etc.  This registry will include details for almost all the healthcare professionals like doctors, nurses, radiologists, etc. and is considered as a smart system providing the organizations and employers with transparent data as they can also check all the provisions / restrictions of the license issued to healthcare professionals.
