The Dubai Police has a new smart reporting initiative. People who are facing criminal charges in Dubai will now be notified about it through a text message.
The initiative aims for settlement of the cases in a prompt manner, as people can now come forward quickly on receipt of the text message.
One can check online travel ban cases filed against them for reasons such as bounced cheques, rent disputes, non-payment issues, etc.
The Dubai Police smart application is both available for Android and Apple phones and may be downloaded using the following links:

Once downloaded, one can logon to the Dubai Police Smart application, choose this service, provide Emirates ID and other details as requested. Thereafter, the user shall receive an authorization code. After all these steps are completed, the user will be able to check the details of the travel ban or case(s) against him/her. If a user changes their mobile number, they may update the number first and then inquire the status.
This new service was launched in September this year and has already benefited a lot of users.
