As of Sunday 30th June 2019, the authorized officer at the DIFC Wills Services will no longer act as one of the witnesses at the will signing. The Testator would be responsible for providing two witnesses for their wills.
The witness must be at least 21 years of age and must have a valid photo ID (either passport or Emirates ID). The witness must not be a beneficiary or a guardian (or a spouse of a beneficiary or a guardian) mentioned in the will. The witness does not have to be a resident of the UAE. The witness can be of any religion or country.
