In order to improve judicial services and streamline operations, a resolution has been approved in introducing a number of amendments to the Civil Procedure Code of UAE.

In order to improve judicial services and streamline operations, a resolution has been approved in introducing a number of amendments to the Civil Procedure Code of UAE. This amendment shall allow unification of procedures in all civil courts of UAE.

This amendment has been introduced in line with UAE Vision 2021 to help facilitate efforts among federal and local authorities, provide flexibility in implementing court decisions across UAE as per the requirements of each judicial body in the country. In addition, a one-day court concept has been introduced through the amendment that will target to complete processes in a period of 15 days from the date of registration.

Furthermore, to be in line with the technological developments in the country, this new regulation also provides electronic registration systems and procedures, steps involved in issuing verdicts and orders via digital form.

There is a likelihood of these amendments to be introduced in a period of 100 days as the Ministry of Justice is closely working with the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, the Dubai Courts, the Ras Al Khaimah Courts and the DIFC Courts.
